Psychological support for students
After several emergency calls, the police were on duty at the school in Offenburg’s northern city on Thursday afternoon with a total of more than 300 officers. The area was largely cordoned off. A helicopter also circled over the school center.
For safety reasons, the approximately 180 students remained in their classrooms until the building was finally searched. They were all cared for by psychologists and experts from the German Red Cross, police and schools. They were then able to join their parents in classes in a neighboring sports hall. According to the police, further follow-up care from experts is guaranteed.
