The Portuguese national team returned from the field of the Slovak national team with a valuable victory with a goal without a response, in the confrontation that was held this evening, Friday, in the fifth round of the European Nations Championship qualifiers.
Bruno Fernandes scored the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute.
The Portuguese team raised its score to 15 points at the top of the standings, five points ahead of the Slovakian team, which is in second place.
In the same round, the Luxembourg national team defeated its guest, the Iceland national team, 1-3.
Maxime Chanot scored the first goal for Luxembourg from a penalty kick in the ninth minute, before Evando Borges added the second goal in the 70th minute, while Arnar Haraldsson scored Iceland’s only goal in the 88th minute.
In the last minute of regular time, Daniel Sinani scored Luxembourg’s third goal.
The Luxembourg team raised its score to ten points in third place, while the Iceland team’s score froze at three points in fifth place.
Within the same group competitions, the Bosnia and Herzegovina team defeated its guest, the Liechtenstein team, 1/2.
Edin Dzeko scored the first goal for Bosnia in the third minute, while Liechtenstein’s Simon Leschinger scored the second goal by mistake against his team in the 18th minute.
In the 21st minute, Sandro Wolfinger scored Liechtenstein’s only goal.
