The Ministry of Tourism has launched 5 qualitative and specialized educational programs for master’s and applied diplomas in the fields of “tourism and hospitality”, in partnership with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, King Khalid University, Tabuk University, Batterjee Medical College, Prince Mohammed bin Salman College of Management and Entrepreneurship, and a number of institutions. the international leader in tourism education; In order to cover the needs of the market in tourism jobs in various regions of the Kingdom.

The tourism education initiative launched by the Ministry of Tourism last March seeks to provide distinguished tourism educational programs in partnership with major national and international institutions, with the aim of ensuring the continuity of educational institutions in providing high-quality programs that are compatible with the needs of the labor market, in line with the objectives of the national tourism development strategy and support for the sector. Professionally qualified local talents.

The offered educational programs include: Intermediate Diploma in “Hospitality and Business Management”, in partnership with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. Mountain Resort Management” offered by King Khalid University in cooperation with the Swiss University of Les Roches; With the aim of enhancing human capabilities in the tourism sector, and qualifying local cadres with high efficiency in managing mountain resorts, according to the best international standards, as well as providing students with the skills of direct dealing with customers, management, communication and planning, which qualifies them for a promising career and leadership positions in the hospitality sector.

In the Tabuk region, which is witnessing an increasing growth in the tourism labor market, the University of Tabuk, in partnership with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, is offering an intermediate diploma program in “Travel and Tourism”, which will contribute to qualifying Saudi cadres with knowledge and skills in the fields of travel and tourism, in accordance with international standards. And international standards, in addition to providing a theoretical and practical educational experience inside and outside the Kingdom, to provide students with the skills necessary for the requirements of the labor market.

On the other hand, the Batterjee Medical College, in cooperation with the Italian University of Palermo, organizes a diploma program in “Health and Hospital Tourism Operations”; With the aim of preparing qualified local competencies with practical and theoretical skills in this promising field, contributing to the growth of the health and hospital tourism industry, and promoting various tourism experiences.

The Ministry of Tourism has also launched, in cooperation with Prince Mohammed bin Salman College of Management and Entrepreneurship, a master’s program in management – tourism management track; To graduate qualified cadres with the necessary skills for the tourism sector and the public services sector, and to provide an educational basis that provides scientific skills that are consistent with the latest developments in the world of tourism, leading to enriching the capabilities of graduates to assume professional administrative positions in the private and public sectors in the fields of tourism, hospitality and tourism services.

It is noteworthy that the tourism education initiative comes to keep pace with the increasing demand for qualified competencies in the fields of tourism and hospitality in the Kingdom, as the Ministry of Tourism aims by 2030 to add one million jobs in various tourism sectors, in a way that achieves the goals of the national tourism development strategy and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
