Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo (Saudi Al-Nasr captain) appeared with his toenails painted black during his vacation this summer.
The Portugal captain is enjoying a vacation with his family on his yacht, worth more than 6 million euros, on the Italian island of Sardinia.
However, fans couldn’t take their eyes off Rooney’s toenails as they appeared to be painted black.
But it seems that there is a reason why Ronaldo paints his toenails.
According to the German newspaper “Bild”, the “Keewee” account on Twitter criticized those who wondered why Ronaldo painted his toenails.
Ronaldo paints his feet to protect against fungal and bacterial infections while playing in his football boots.
“Many great athletes do this to protect their nails from fungus and bacteria when they wear shoes for hours. Even Mike Tyson was doing it,” the Twitter account said.
This is not the first time that Ronaldo paints his toenails black during the “Euro 2016”, and on that day Portugal defeated France, the hosts, in the final and crowned the title.
Ronaldo is known to do whatever is necessary to prolong his amazing career.
The former Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid star regularly uses refrigerated ice baths to speed up his recovery.
The Don is also a firm believer in a healthy diet, pushing his team-mates to adopt a crash diet after returning to Old Trafford.
Ronaldo also likes to use sleep as his first recovery tool, taking up to 5 naps a day.
