Al-Ahly of Egypt qualified for the final of the African Football Champions League, after it succeeded in beating its rival, Esperance de Tunis, 1-0, today, Friday, in the second leg of the semi-finals, to qualify by defeating it 4-0 in the aggregate of the two matches.

Al-Ahly defeated Esperance 3-0 in the first leg last week in Rades, Tunisia, to reach the final match of the African Champions League for the fourth time in a row.

Hussein Al-Shahat gave his Al-Ahly team the lead in the 22nd minute, after he received a long pass from South African Percy Tau, so Al-Shahat kicked off and put the ball in the far left corner of goalkeeper Sedqi Al-Dabashi, the moment he left to meet him.

Al-Ahly will meet in the final with the winner of the Moroccan Wydad and Mamelodi Sundowns teams, where they will meet tomorrow, Saturday, in the second leg of the semi-final.

The two teams tied goalless in the first leg match that was held last Saturday in Morocco.

With this qualification, Al-Ahly has achieved a unique achievement by reaching the CAF Champions League final for the sixth time in the last seven editions of the continental championship.

And Al-Ahly is the record holder for winning the championship, as it won the title 10 times, the last of which was in 2021, and it took the runner-up 5 times, the last of which was last year, when it lost to Moroccan Wydad in the final match.
