The weather was tense during the match before Lanús. In fact, 15 minutes into the second half the game was stopped because there were Unión fans up on one of the side fences. After the 0-0, violence exploded outside the 15 de Abril stadium: there were runs, stones and rubber bullets from the police against the Tate fans. A lot of tension for several minutes.
The situation also complicated the work of journalists. Chronicler Luciano Leiva, from a Lanús partisan radio station, described: “There were bombs exploding next to us, the police wanting to repress us and the people of Unión running. We arrived at the press conference by chance.”
There was an injured minor who was taken to a hospital. Four people ran him away, fainted.
Nicolás Mai, reporter for the Central Deportiva de Cadena 3, said: “It was an impressive shooting. From the cabin, we heard at least 100 shots.”
