The President of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Maadi bin Muhammad Al Madhhab, inaugurated today the summer program to enhance intellectual awareness and national affiliation, which is organized by the Intellectual Awareness Unit in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, for university students during the summer vacation period, with the aim of promoting the values of moderation and tolerance and developing their methodological moderation skills, in order to achieve Intellectual balance and the necessary immunity from extremist ideas.
Dr. Saleh Al-Fraih, General Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit, stated that the summer program contributes to strengthening the national identity and religious affiliation of Saudi youth, in addition to supporting positive communication skills and effective coexistence, by introducing them to the history of the Kingdom, its leaders, its achievements, and its global position, in line with the goals of Vision 2030. He explained that the program will continue until 1/23/1445 AH.
The program is accompanied by 14 training courses, workshops, and introductory lectures on the national history, its ancient past, the achievements of its leadership, and its future vision, as well as ways to effectively deal with extremist personalities, the role of the media and social communication in confronting this ideology with the available means, and other topics that contribute to the prevention of intellectual extremism and the promotion of coexistence values. And national affiliation, as a group of faculty members at the university participate in presenting dialogue sessions, in addition to activating specialized initiatives, and scientific, cultural, literary and artistic competitions.
