Thunder supplication… supplications that are answered when thunder rains fall

Many governorates of the Republic are witnessing rain as the wave of bad weather continues since Sunday morning. These rains have been accompanied by thunder and lightning. Below we publish a number of supplications that it is recommended to repeat while hearing lightning and thunder.

There are many authentic prophetic supplications about the phenomena of thunder and lightning, as it was stated that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Thunder is one of the angels entrusted with the clouds in his hand, or in his hand is a prick of fire with which he rebukes the clouds, and the sound that is heard from him rebukes the clouds when he rebukes them until it reaches a place.” His command, and on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, “Thunder is one of God’s angels entrusted with the clouds. He has spikes of fire with which he drives the clouds wherever God wills.”

And regarding the supplications of thunder, on the authority of Abdullah bin Al-Zubair – may God be pleased with him – it was documented that if he heard the sound of thunder, he would abandon the hadith, and say: “Glory be to Him who praises thunder and whose fear the angels glorify, then he says: This is a severe threat to the people of the earth,” narrated by Al-Bukhari.

It was reported on the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, that when the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw rain, he would say: “O God, grant us a beneficial rain.” – Narrated by Al-Bukhari, and what is meant by rain is that which falls from the rain. God Almighty said: {Or like a raindrop from the sky}.
