A Palestinian was wounded by Israeli bullets, while 20 others were arrested today, Tuesday, in raids by the occupation army in the West Bank.

Palestinian sources said that special forces from the occupation army raided the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho, wounding a young man with live bullets in the thigh, and dozens of them suffocated with gas. The sources indicated that these forces arrested 5 other young men during their raid on the camp.

According to the same sources, the occupation army raided the town of Qabatiya in Jenin and arrested two young men, and its forces clashed with Palestinian activists, without reporting any injuries. A similar raid took place in the town of Turmusaya, north of Ramallah.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that the occupation army arrested 20 Palestinians, from separate areas in the West Bank, during a campaign that included storming and searching residential homes.

“March of the Flags”

In a related context, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the announcement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to organize the Jewish “flag march” according to its traditional path, and to storm it to revive East Jerusalem.

And the Palestinian Foreign Ministry considered, in a press statement, that Israel “deliberately escalates the situation in the arena of conflict in a systematic manner, and closes one page of crimes in order to open another page in an open war against the Palestinian people and their rights.”

This ministry expressed its strong condemnation of the silence of the international community and the countries that claim to be keen on the principle of the two-state solution and human rights, which the Israeli government is exploiting to persist in attacking the rights of the Palestinians and committing more crimes.

For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister said yesterday that the march of flags will take place as intended. While the Israeli Channel 13 reported that government ministers will participate in this march, which the Palestinians consider a deliberate provocation and aggression against occupied Jerusalem.

The Israeli extreme right is organizing this march to commemorate the occupation of the eastern part of the Holy City in 1967, which they call the day of the unification of Jerusalem and the establishment of Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Jewish religious places in it.

The march is organized according to the Hebrew calendar, and is scheduled to take place this year, next Thursday, corresponding to May 18. Large groups of fanatical Jews waving Israeli flags march through the Old City through Damascus Gate in occupied Jerusalem.
