Statement of the Council of Senior Scholars
Thanks be to God, Lord of all worlds. And may God’s blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions altogether.. Now to proceed:
The Council of Senior Scholars, in its ninety-third session, held in Taif on Sunday, 10/24/1444 AH, to thank God Almighty for what He has bestowed upon this good and blessed country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by arbitrating the Book of God Almighty and the Sunnah of His Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, what It resulted in its security, stability and prosperity.
It praises God Almighty for what it has been blessed with from its wise leadership since its founding at the hands of King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – and to this blessed era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, As this wise, wise leadership is keen on everything that achieves its interests for this country, and wards off corruption, evil, and temptation from it.
In light of this, the Council of Senior Scholars commends the joint security campaign to combat drugs in all regions of the Kingdom, which is led by His Highness the Crown Prince – may God bless him – with the initiative, follow-up and supervision, in order to protect this blessed country in its sons and daughters, its sanctities and its gains.
And the Council of Senior Scholars, while thanking the rulers for this directive with this blessed campaign; To explain to all Muslims the duty towards this campaign, and towards combating these deadly poisons and drugs, in the following matters:
First: People do not differ on the harms of drugs, and therefore the countries of the world as a whole, and all organizations and institutions with specialization in medical, social, and others, have come together to warn against it, and to enact regulations and rulings that prohibit and criminalize it, and it is in the rule of Islamic law one of the great taboos in terms of abuse, use, promotion and sale. Because of its harm to religion, the soul, the mind, offspring, and money, and it is among the first things that fall into the wickedness that are forbidden by the true Sharia; Because of its dangerous effects on the individual and society, God Almighty said: (And He makes lawful for them the good things and forbids them the evil ones).
Secondly: We recommend to all Muslims, and especially to young men and women, to be very careful of these deadly poisons, which in the event of their abuse – may God protect them and protect them – destroy their lives, health, future, and social bonds. And that they stay away from places of similarity, and bad companions who make abuse attractive to them and drag them into addiction. We ask God Almighty for safety and protection for everyone from these toxins and other taboos and evils.
Third: We remind everyone that targeting our country with these deadly poisons is not primarily aimed at material gains, but rather is a war targeting the homeland in its capabilities and gains, and at the forefront of that: the foundation of its renaissance, and the pillar of its future, God willing, represented by its sons and daughters, and this is what calls for it to be Combating and fighting drugs, in which everyone cooperates, and mobilizes all energies for this, according to the directives of our firm leadership; campaign after campaign against these deadly toxins.
Fourth: And for the sake of what was mentioned, we urge everyone to cooperate with the concerned agencies to report on everyone who promotes these deadly poisons, buying and selling, gifting and importing. Sincerity is for God, for His book, for His Messenger, for the imams of the Muslims and their common folk.
In this regard, we cannot fail to thank the employees of the agencies concerned with combating drugs, and everyone who provides them with support and support. Because of the great efforts they make in combating drugs and their promoters, arresting their importers, and seizing their shipments. Because of its great impact on protecting Muslim sons and daughters, the country’s capabilities and gains, and implementing the directives of the rulers to the fullest extent.
We ask God Almighty to reward the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince with the best reward for these directives, and to reward the employees of the concerned agencies with the best reward for the great work they do, and to protect our country and all Muslim countries from all evil and sedition.
God is the Grantor of success, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
