Faisal Khalid Al Naboodah, Director of the Marketing and Public Relations Department at the Sharjah Cooperative, confirmed to (Al Bayan) that the Sharjah Cooperative supports citizen farmers by promoting their products for free, and the number of farms supported by them reached 100, with the aim of encouraging the local product, and it also provides spaces for the products of more than 28 families for free to display It also supports (Made in the UAE) products, especially (Rowad) products, so the products are displayed at nominal prices.
Indicating that the cooperative has 50 branches distributed in all the cities of Sharjah, and 3 new branches will be opened in the current year, including a commercial center in the Siuh area that was designed in an environmentally friendly manner, and that 90% of the administrators working in the cooperative branches are citizens.
He added that the Sharjah Coop has 50 branches distributed in all the cities of Sharjah, and that there are many projects that will be implemented, including a commercial center in the Al-Siuh area that was designed in an environmentally friendly manner, and the completion rate in it reached 92% and includes a large hypermarket, a cinema hall, and other facilities that provide services. And the various materials that families need, in addition to the Al-Kharous area branch, and the Al-Siuh commercial center, and the cooperative receives goods and commodities from inside and outside the country
In addition, the Sharjah Cooperative cooperates with 100 local farms at the state level, and its products are marketed in all branches of the Cooperative free of charge. An annual Emirates Farmers Forum is organized in the Cooperative branch of the Rahmaniyah Commercial Center, in which the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change participate. With the aim of supporting farmers from those regions and overcoming the difficulties they face, in order to achieve food security.
Al Naboodah said: There is cooperation with productive families, as the Sharjah Cooperative promotes the products of more than 28 families for free, with the aim of encouraging them and promoting their products by providing spaces for them in the month of Ramadan, and throughout the year many exhibitions and festivals are organized in which productive families are given spaces to display their products In order to support them without fees, they are contacted by text messages and e-mails after the registration is opened.
Pointing out that there are multiple products displayed in the association in cooperation with youth projects, especially (pioneers), and Sharjah businesswomen with the aim of providing spaces for them to display their products, and we also encourage every producer (made in the Emirates), so the products are displayed at symbolic prices, and we also signed a memorandum of understanding with the association Emirates Publishers aims to display and sell the books of 200 national publishers in the branches of the Sharjah Cooperative, in addition to Al Qasimi publications in all branches of the Sharjah Cooperative.
He added that 90% of the administrators working in the association are citizens, whether in the administration or the branches, and the cooperative prepares various and numerous programs for training and attracting citizens to work in it, and there is a (small merchant program) for students and youth in which they are introduced to how to receive goods, promote and sell, in addition In order for them to monitor the course of the types of the product and how it is displayed in all branches, and it lasts for 4 weeks and has been organized for 5 years, and a large number of students benefit from it, which enables them in the future to work in the cooperative.
