The journalist, Ahmed Schubert, the goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team and the former Al-Ahly club, explained today, Tuesday, how to choose the Egyptian clubs to participate in the African Championships, the “CAF Champions League and the Confederation” in the next season.
Schubert said on “On Sport FM” radio today: “If the African Confederation decides to approve the clubs participating in the continental championships at the end of June, as specified, the Football Association will send the list according to the first round arrangement.”
And the former Al-Ahly goalkeeper continued: “According to the current arrangement in the Egyptian league table, Al-Ahly and Pyramids will participate in the African Champions League, and Future and Zamalek in the Confederation Championship.”
Ahmed Schubert added: “I expect the African Union to make an exception for Egyptian clubs and extend the deadline for sending the names of the teams, especially since the league will end on July 20, according to statements by Ahmed Diab, head of the Clubs Association.”
