The Professional Tennis Players Association announced – today, Thursday – that Saudi Arabia will host the Next Generation Men’s Finals, for players under 21 years old, at the end of the season in Jeddah, starting from the current year until 2027.
The Professional Federation will transfer its competitions to Saudi Arabia for the first time, and the value of the prize money will increase to two million dollars, which is a record in the tournament that was held for the first time in Milan in 2017.
The Professional Association began an evaluation process for cities wishing to host the tournament last March.
“Professional leagues are global, and it is pivotal to explore new markets for the development of the game,” federation president Andrea Gaudense said in a statement.
“Bringing the Next Generation Finals to Jeddah is an opportunity to inspire fans, in a region with a huge youth population, and to unite fans around tennis. We congratulate Jeddah and the Saudi Tennis Federation, and we look forward to building on this tournament to achieve great successes together.”
