This is the first match in which Real Madrid failed to achieve victory at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in La Liga this season.
Thus, Real Madrid has 29 points and remains in second place, two points behind Girona, while Rayo Vallecano, which maintained its unbeaten record for the eighth consecutive match in the competition, rose to 18 points in ninth place.
