Real Madrid CF chooses Acciona and Saba to build and operate the Bernabéu parking spaces

The Bernabéu car parks are advancing. Real Madrid CF, through its company Real Madrid Estadio, has chosen Acciona and Saba for the construction and operation of the parking spaces at the Santiago Bernabéu stadiumas the The Economist.

The group chaired by José Manuel Entrecanales will be in charge of executing the works on the two parking spaces for an amount of around seventy million euros while Saba will exploit them for forty years.

Acciona has prevailed over other companies that intended to win the award, such as FCC, which in the end has only focused on the remodeling of the white fiefdom, which is estimated to be completed during 2024.

Real Madrid CF plans to triple the investment it made last July in parking, by acquiring two parking areas of around 20,000 meters in total for one hundred million euros. The business plan of Real Madrid Estadio establishes profits of 2.4 million euros before taxes in the first year of concession and up to 10.6 million euros in 2063, which would raise the total to 326 million euros in forty years.

Real Madrid CF, in addition, will increase the number of available parking spaces by 10%, up to 1,846 spaces. The club, after the remodeling of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, plans to hold around 56 events a year, which translates into 90% occupancy of the parking spaces.

The awarding of the project is the end of the bureaucratic path of the project that began in the summer of 2021, when the white club requested the Madrid City Council to build two parking areas with nearly 2,000 spaces in the surroundings of its renovated stadium, under Paseo de la Castellana and Padre Damián street.

On October 24, the group chaired by Florentino Pérez received a setback on its path towards the construction of the parking lots, after the Contentious-Administrative Court number 30 of Madrid admit the lawsuit of the Association of Those Injured by the Bernabéu against the Madrid City Council.

The neighbors affected by the parking works on the outskirts of the white stadium They considered that there are “technical irregularities in the construction project of two parking lots and a adjacent tunnel”. Likewise, they added that “the need for parking or a tunnel is not justified, which also does not incorporate a safety study.”
