wild birds They showed off their first-round selection reaction on Twitter.
Come on, he said, laughing. “Come champagne to my door!”
Drake is a native of Toronto who has deep ties to the Raptors.
The “Circo Loco” singer was named a global ambassador for the team in 2013, representing The 6 wherever he goes.
The Raptors Sports Center was also rebranded as “OVO Athletic Center” after partnering with Drake in 2019 in a naming rights deal that featured his record label, OVO.
Dick now joins the Toronto squad as they try to find their footing once again in the mighty and talented Eastern Conference after missing the 2023 playoffs.
The small forward shone his first year as a Jayhawk, averaging 14.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 36 games.
Dick was also a beast from behind the arc — one of his highlights heading into the draft — and hit 83 three-pointers in the 2022-23 season, tying the record for a Kansas freshman.
His three-point accuracy was reflected in a conversion rate of 40.3 percent, and Dick was 44.2 percent from the field.
When Dick is without the ball, he knows how to find his holes and create space in his shooting lanes.
Dick will be a big part of the Raptors’ little offense, and hopefully, he’ll make a new friend once he gets to Toronto.
