Welshman Bernan Johnson gave Spurs an early goal three minutes after the start of the match, but Wolverhampton responded with two goals in stoppage time from Spaniard Pablo Sarabia and Gabonese Mario Lemina.
Wolverhampton prevented its guest, Tottenham, from regaining its position at the top, as its score froze at 26 points, falling in third place, with a goal difference behind third-placed Arsenal, while Wolverhampton raised its score to 15 points in 12th place.
Manchester City, the defending champion, leads the standings with 27 points before facing host Chelsea tomorrow, Sunday.
Arsenal and Man United win
Tottenham suffered its second loss in a row, and also its second loss during the current season, after losing in the last round to Chelsea 1-4.
In the same round, Arsenal defeated its guest Burnley 3-1.

Arsenal raised its score to 27 points in second place, on goal difference behind leaders Manchester City, which plays host Chelsea tomorrow in the same round’s competitions.
Arsenal took the lead in the last minute of the first half through Leandro Trossard, before Burnley equalized through Josh Brownhill (54).
In the 56th minute, William Saliba scored the second goal for Arsenal, then his teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko added the third goal in the 74th minute.
The match saw Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira sent off in the 83rd minute.
In another match in the same round, Manchester United defeated its guest Luton Town with a clean goal scored by Victor Lindelof in the 59th minute.

Manchester United raised its score to 21 points in sixth place, while Luton’s score froze at six points in 17th place.
