Paris Saint-Germain, the French Football League champion, announced on Friday the departure of its 37-year-old Spanish veteran defender Sergio Ramos at the end of the current season.

And the Parisian club said in a press statement, “Paris Saint-Germain warmly greets Sergio Ramos, who is preparing to leave the capital after two seasons during which he defended the club’s colors.”

The French champion also dedicated several tweets to bid farewell to the Spanish defender, whose next destination was not yet clear.

Ramos’ departure comes one day after Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier announced that Argentine star Lionel Messi will play his last match with the French champion on Saturday against Clermont, which is the last match this season in the French League, which the team won its title this week.

Saint-Germain announced that Ramos will be in the squad for the match that will be held at the Parc des Princes in the French capital.
