Toulouse club, competing in the French Premier League, announced today, Friday, that Moroccan striker Zakaria Abou Khalal will stay away from competitions for several months after suffering an injury.
The striker was forced to exit in the 39th minute of the 1-1 draw with Saint-Geloise at the start of the two teams’ European League campaign yesterday, Thursday.
The club wrote on the “X” (formerly Twitter) social media platform, “Our striker Zakaria Abu Khalal will be absent from the field for several months.”
He added that the player will undergo further tests to determine the nature of the injury and the duration of his absence from the field.

The 23-year-old player, who joined Toulouse last year from AZ Alkmaar, was part of the Moroccan squad that achieved a surprise by reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, which was held in Qatar.

Toulouse, which is in 13th place with six points from 5 matches, will visit Lens the day after tomorrow, Sunday, in the league, hoping to achieve a second victory in the competition this season.
