Morenistas reacted to the death of the founder of the Philosophy of Liberation, Enrique Dussel

On the night of November 5, the death of the doctor was announced Enrique Domingo Dussel Ambrosini, naturalized Mexican Argentine philosopher, historian and theologian; who died at 88 years of age. An official statement was issued through social networks by her son, Enrique Dussel Peters.

“Today, November 5, 2023 at 8:50 p.m., Enrique Domingo Dussel Ambrosini, husband, parents, grandfather, professor, theologian, philosopher, historian, professor and critical thinker, passed away. Rest in peace”.

Dussel was internationally recognized for his work in Political Philosophy, Latin American Philosophy, in Ethics and for participating in the founding of the so-called “philosophy of liberation” and published more than 50 books and more than 400 articles. Likewise, he was a militant and leader in the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party.

For its part, the Secretary of Culture of Mexico City He lamented the death of the theologian, with a publication from his X account (formerly Twitter). “One of the theorists who reflected the most on the Latin American condition,” he said.

The General Secretary of Morena, Citlalli Hernandez, was very affected by the news and expressed it with a comment on her profile. “With deep pain, sadness, nostalgia and tears in my eyes, I learn of the death of the most important philosopher of modern life, a teacher, great thinker, human being and companion,” she wrote.

“Doctor Enrique Dussel has been the great ideologue of political ethics, he was a militant and leader of Morena and the best way to honor his life and thoughts is to not stop reading him, understanding him, reflecting on him and ALWAYS remembering him. I will never forget everything I learned, the talks, the laughter, the exchanges, the advice and the last coffee full of plans and reflections”

Clara Brugada, candidate to be Morena’s candidate for the Head of Government of Mexico City, dedicated an emotional message upon learning of the death of Dr. Enrique Dussel. “I regret the departure of the great Latin American philosopher Enrique Dussel, a great teacher, thinker, human being and comrade in struggle,” said the former mayor of Iztapalapa.

Rapé, a Mexican journalist and cartoonist, also lamented the loss and published through his X account (formerly Twitter) a portrait of Enrique Dussel, made a few years ago by the cartoonist, Antonio Helguera Martinez. “May the great philosopher Enrique Dussel rest in peace. “Another giant that is leaving us.”
