The future cannot stop focusing on the past.
The rapper appears to be dissenting with Russell Wilson on his song “Turn Yo Clic Up,” released Friday in a collaboration with Quavo.
“You’re out of the field, Russell,” Future says in the lyric.
This isn’t the first time Future has come after Wilson, as the Denver Broncos quarterback is married to rapper’s ex-fiancé, Ciara.
The Grammy Award-winning singer shares her nine-year-old son, Future Zahir Wilburn, with Future.
The former couple called off their engagement in August 2014 after ten months.
Ciara reportedly met Wilson in March 2015 at a basketball game in Wisconsin, and the two quickly fell for each other.
In a 2015 interview with The Breakfast Club, Future wasn’t happy about Ciara opening a new chapter with a different guy.
“Don’t bring a man around your son,” Future said. “You’ve known this guy for a few months and you bring him up with your kid? Who does that? ”
Wilson popped the question to Ciara in March 2016 and the couple tied the knot in Cheshire, England in July 2016.
The Super Bowl Champion became a stepfather to Future Jr. While welcoming two children of his own with Ciara.
Daughter Sienna Princess, 6, was born in 2017 and son Wayne Harrison, 3, born in 2020.
Future continued to have his say on his ex-wife’s new family in 2019 when he accused Wilson of being “not a man” and of doing “exactly what [Ciara] Tell him to do.”
“He is not a man in this position. You don’t tell her, bro, chill out about that on the internet. Don’t even talk to him. Future said in a January 2019 interview with Beats 1 Radio, “I am your husband.
“You better not raise the name of the future!” If that was me, you wouldn’t even be able to say his name.”
Despite Future’s taunts, Ciara and Wilson still seem unfazed.
Ciara recently posted photos of the couple enjoying a trip to Japan with Wilson captioning, “I love you my queen.”
