Khaled Al-Salem, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, said that the Special Economic Zone of Ras Al-Khair focuses on building ships and offshore drilling platforms for oil wells and their maintenance.
Al-Salem expected, in an interview with Al-Arabiya, that the region would provide about 90,000 new jobs, while attracting local and foreign investments with a total value of 100 billion riyals, including foreign investment. Direct about 12 billion riyals.
He explained that “Ras Al-Khair City” is an existing city with factories that are already operating and others under construction.
He pointed out that today witnessed the announcement of the launch of a private city within the Ras Al-Khair area on an area of 20 square kilometers.
He added that an agreement was signed with the “Baw Steel” company, in partnership with “Aramco”, to produce iron sheets that are used in the shipbuilding industry.
He stressed that the companies with which agreements have been concluded represent half of the special economic zone so far.
