Due to “creative decisions”, Slipknot have decided to stop working with drummer Jay Weinberg. The group itself has been in charge of making this news official through social networks. “We wanted to thank Jay Weinberg for the dedication and passion he has shown over the last ten years.“declared the group. “No one can replace Joey Jordison’s sound, style and energy, but Jay honored Joey’s parts and contributed to our last three albums, something both the band and the fans appreciate. But Slipknot seeks to evolve. The band has decided to make a creative decision, and therefore stops working with Jay. We wish you the best and are excited for what the future may bring.“.
Weinberg was a member of Slipknot for a decade. His work with the group began in 2014 after the departure of Joey Jordison. Since then he participated in three different albums: “5: The Gray Chapter”, “We Are Not Your Kind” and “The End, So Far”.
At the moment it is unknown who will be Jay’s replacement. Of course: we will surely clear up all doubt on April 27, 2024, the day on which Slipknot will offer a live performance at Sick New World, the only festival confirmed by the group for the coming months.
