The Emmy nominee, Peter Pascalknown for his role in series such as The Mandalorian y The Last of Uscould join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) like Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four (Fantastic Four). According to Deadline, a deal has not yet been finalized and the actor’s schedule is a critical factor in the negotiations, the current status of which remains uncertain. His addition would represent a significant move for the title, which is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025 as part of Phase 5.
The studio acquired the rights to the franchise in 2019, after Disney acquired 21st Century Fox. The team known as Marvel’s First Family, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, has led several previous films under different casts, maintaining great popularity among the most emblematic superheroes in comics over the decades.
The character of Reed Richards, creator of the quartet, was initially introduced in the comic Fantastic Four #1 1″ from 1961, and successfully performed by Ioan Gruffudd in the 2005 saga and by Miles Teller (Whiplash: music and obsession, Top Gun: Maverick) in 2015, although the latter represented a great failure both at the box office and with critics, with an almost unanimous disapproval of 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, which would represent a greater challenge for Pascal if he were to join the project.
Pending final details, the film’s other lead roles, including Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing, are yet to be cast. The film will be directed by Matt Shakman and is currently in pre-production at Pinewood Studios in England, with Kevin Feige as a producer.
