“Intensely 2” presents Ansiedad in its first teaser

Disney y Pixar have announced the release of their new film, Intensely 2 (Inside Out 2)scheduled to hit theaters in June 2024. The sequel to the acclaimed 2015 original film will pick up the story of Riley, who is now a teenager after turning 13, and will feature a significant change in her internal world with the introduction of a first of four never-before-seen emotions: Anxiety.

Intensely 2, from Disney and Pixar, returns to the mind of Riley, a newly arrived teenager, just as the headquarters is suddenly being demolished to make way for something totally unexpected: new emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who have long run a successful operation by all indications, are not sure how to feel when Anxiety appears. And it seems that she is not alone,” warns the official synopsis.

Director Kelsey Mann has revealed details about this innovative character who will be played by Maya Hawke (Stranger Things). According to Mann, Anxiety, despite being a new member of the emotions team, will play a prominent and disruptive role in the group dynamic. This addition promises to add another complex dimension to the plot and explore deeper aspects of the adolescent psyche.

“Ansiedad, voiced by Maya Hawke, may be new to the team, but she’s not one to take a backseat,” explains Mann. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what’s going on inside all of our minds.” The cast of Inside Out 2 includes Amy Poehler reprising their role as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear and Liza Lapira as Disgust (the latter two replaced Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling in the respective roles).

The announcement of the second installment generates expectations for how it will address complex issues related to mental health and emotions during adolescence. Among Disney’s upcoming releases, it is shaping up to be a uniquely significant film event for the summer of 2024 in the United States. Eight years ago, Intensely It was well received by both critics and the public, standing out for its innovative approach to the representation of human emotions. Now the continuation offers an introspective and educational look at the emotional challenges in the adolescent stage.

Additionally the Anxietythe emotions that enter this universe are Envy, Boredom y Shame. For now, it is not known who the actors who will provide their voices for these new characters, in addition to the recently announced Maya Hawke.

Intensely 2directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, will be released exclusively in theaters on June 14, 2024.
