A source within Al-Ahly club revealed the latest negotiations with former German Borussia Dortmund player, Anthony Modest, whom Al-Ahly is seeking to include in the current summer transfer period.
“Modist” is among the candidates presented to Al-Ahly club, during the current period, to contract with him and strengthen the attacking line, and his position will be decided within hours.

A source inside Al-Ahly said that the club offered player Anthony Modest $1.7 million per season, but the player wants more.
The source continued: “Modist asked for $3 million in the first season, to be reduced in the second season to $2 million.”

He added: “There was a meeting via Zoom meeting that brought together Al-Ahly officials with the player and his agent, in the presence of the club president, Mahmoud Al-Khatib, and everyone agreed on the deal, before the negotiations stalled.”
He continued: “The negotiations suddenly stopped and were temporarily suspended due to the intervention of the German club Eintracht Frankfurt in the deal and its desire to contract with the player.”
The source concluded: “The player’s agent persuades the player to accept Al-Ahly’s offer and make it a priority in light of other offers, most notably from Eintracht Frankfurt.”

In 2021, Modest was loaned to the French team Saint-Etienne, and he participated in only 7 matches and did not score any goals.
