Dubai Endowments supports eye patients with 460,000 dirhams

The Awqaf Foundation and the Management of Minors’ Funds in Dubai provided support worth 460,000 dirhams to the Noor Dubai Charitable Foundation, to contribute to supporting humanitarian cases related to combating blindness and treating all forms of visual impairments.

This support comes from the zakat bank in Dubai Endowments to contribute to the treatment of cases of eye diseases of all kinds who do not have health insurance that covers the costs of eye operations and the expenses of treating other visual diseases, and to provide treatment for eye patients with limited income, who are residents within the country, The support includes treatment of eye diseases that cause blindness, vision correction operations or eye accident injuries, and other eye diseases.

The check was handed over by Khalid Al Thani, Deputy Secretary-General of the Awqaf Foundation and the Management of Minors’ Funds in Dubai, to Dr. Manal Tarim, Executive Director of the Noor Dubai Foundation, at the Foundation’s headquarters in Garhoud.

Khalid Al Thani said that the support comes within the framework of the Foundation’s efforts to expand its services in the health sector and strengthen strategic partnerships that contribute to serving this vital sector in society. He stated that the Foundation is keen to continuously enhance ways of cooperation with the Noor Dubai Charitable Foundation, in support of its efforts to support the defaulters and those who are unable to bear the expenses of treatment for eye patients.

For her part, Dr. Manal Omran Tarim, Executive Director of Noor Dubai Foundation, stated that despite the progress made by Noor Dubai Foundation in the field of combating blindness, there is still a need to provide specialized eye care services to those in need.
