Burning the Qur’an.. Türkiye summons the Danish Chargé d’Affaires for the fifth time this month

Today, Thursday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Chargé d’Affairs of the Danish Embassy in Ankara for the fifth time this August, to protest against the burning of the Holy Quran.

Diplomatic sources said that the foreign ministry summoned the temporary charge d’affaires of the embassy, Aji Sandal Mueller, because of the continued burning of the Qur’an in front of the embassies of Turkey and other Islamic countries in Copenhagen.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry had previously summoned Mueller on August 18, 21, 22 and 23 to protest the same case.

Recently, in Sweden and Denmark, incidents of insulting the Qur’an by extreme rightists in front of the embassies of Islamic countries have been repeated, which sparked angry Arab and Islamic reactions, officially and popularly, in addition to official summons for the diplomats of the two countries in more than one Arab country.

It is noteworthy that on July 26, the United Nations adopted a resolution drafted by Morocco condemning all acts of violence against the holy books, as a violation of international law.
