Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, confirmed that the integration of the park with the Sharjah Oasis for Technology and Innovation project opens a new chapter in the process of strengthening the knowledge economy in the United Arab Emirates and consolidating the country’s position as a global destination for entrepreneurship.
This merger brings together the resources and expertise of the complex and the oasis to form an independent free zone authority under the name Sharjah Park for Research, Technology and Innovation “Free Zone Authority”.
As a result of this merger, the complex is witnessing a set of changes to keep pace with the structural, organizational and functional structure of the Free Zone Authority.
Since its establishment by an Emiri Decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in 2016, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park has worked to promote tripartite cooperation between industry, government and academia under the supervision of the American University of Sharjah Business Corporation. .
In line with what was announced in Emiri Decree No. 9 of 2023 regarding organizing the management of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park as a free zone authority, an independent board of directors will be established headed by Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, and the board will assume the tasks of managing and representing the park.

Membership of the Board of Directors, which lasts for a period of four years, will contribute to helping establish a clear vision for long-term growth, and constitute the embodiment of the future vision of the complex.
