Ahmed Makki, CEO of the Bunyah Group, said that a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Emirati “Khazna” to establish the first high-capacity data center in Egypt with a capacity of 25 megawatts and investments of $250 million.
Makki added, in an interview with Al-Arabiya, that the agreement will be activated immediately, and the shares of the two parties in the project will be revealed later, after the completion of the procedures for allocating the land.
He pointed out that the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Technology Zone in Maadi, which will be the first site for investment in high-capacity centers in Egypt.
Makki revealed a partnership for “Binya” in the Saudi market with the “Al-Fanar” company, which was concluded at the beginning of the year to launch the “Alpha Bunya” company, in an equal partnership between the two parties.
He referred to the start of the trial operation of the optical fiber factory, while the official operation will begin next month.
“The global economic crisis always has an impact, and we are trying with other partners to reduce the repercussions to the least possible extent,” Makki said.
He expected the production of 25,000 kilos from the optical fiber factory this year, to rise to 60,000 kilos at the beginning of 2025.
