He cloud game streaming keep growing. Now, a new alternative is available in Spanish territory: it is Amazon Lunathe cloud gaming platform of Amazonwhich arrives as a very interesting new rival for Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Luna debuted on the market in 2022, although the service was presented in 2020. The platform offers access to cloud gaming without the need for a console or computerand more importantly for our audience, you don’t even need to have a powerful mobile phone to play next-generation titles.
Luna is Amazon’s alternative to play video games directly from the cloud
Amazon Luna offers, through streaming, access to a catalog of games of all types, even titles that would require a computer with a powerful hardware configuration. This means that it is possible to play games like the last one Assassin’s Creed without having a console or a computer with an expensive graphics card: you can do it in iOS or Android devicesthanks to the cloud.
And it is that games don’t run on mobile (or on the computer) you are playing them on, but on Amazon Web Services serversand Amazon receives and sends game commands in real time between the device you are playing on and its servers.
You only need to meet three requirements: the first is to have a compatible device, which can be an Android mobile, an iPhone, Amazon Fire computers and tablets. The second is to have a stable internet connection of at least 10 Mbps (although the faster your connection, the better). And finally, the third requirement is the most obvious: pay the subscription to the service. Regarding this point, Amazon offers several plans in Spain.
How much does an Amazon Luna subscription cost?
The price of Amazon Luna ranges from a base version that is included with Amazon Prime, up to about 18 euros for the most expensive plan. These are their differences:
- First of all, users of Amazon Prime can access the games Fortnite and Trackmania, plus a series of time-varying games, at no additional cost to Prime membership.
- Amazon Luna+ It is the first plan of the service, and includes titles such as Batman: Arkham Knight, Team Sonic Racing and a catalog of action, adventure, racing games and more. This plan has a 7-day free trial period and also allows you to play Fortnite and stream Ubisoft games you have purchased on PC. Its price is 9.99 euros per month.
- Ubisoft+ includes a varied catalog of Ubisoft games, including recent releases such as Assassin’s Creed Miragein addition to many titles from the sagas Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed. It will also include future releases such as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Its price is 17.99 euros per month.
