Astronomer expert Dr. Khaled Al-Zaaq explained that the Kingdom’s celebration of its National Day coincides with the sun’s crossing of the equator, as it crosses it on the 20th, 21st, or 22nd, and most often on September 23rd.
Al-Zaaq added that this coincides with the first sign of Libra every year, explaining that on the Saudi National Day, the sun is perpendicular to the equator after being perpendicular to the orbit of the two lines.
Al-Zaaq continued, “The Tropic of Cancer passes over Saudi Arabia, and for your information, the sun was perpendicular to the Tropic of Cancer 90 days ago.”
When will the sun cross the equator?
