Real Madrid’s announcement – today, Wednesday – officially signed Englishman Jude Bellingham from Dortmund, with a contract for 6 seasons ending in 2029, indicating that the royal team started a workshop to build a young team for the future after the departure of a number of players last season.
Real Madrid said in an official statement on its official website that the player will be presented tomorrow, Thursday, as a new player in Real Madrid.
Dortmund had announced earlier that Bellingham, 19, would join Real Madrid for 103 million euros, and it could reach 134 million, with additions that depend on the success of the royal team.
Bellingham – whose annual salary with the “Merengue” is estimated at 12 million euros – participated in 132 matches for Dortmund, scoring 24 goals for the team and providing 25 assists.
Bellingham missed the last matches last season due to an injury that also prevented him from being with the England national team during its current preparations for the “Euro 2024” qualifiers, which allows him to be presented to the media as a new player for Real Madrid tomorrow.
The young English international was previously contracted with a battalion of young players:
- Brazilian Andrique (16 years old)
- French Edouard Camvinga (20 years old)
- Brazilian Rodrigo (22 years old)
- Brazilian Vinicius (22 years old)
- Spaniard Fran Garcia (23 years old)
- Ibrahim Diaz (23 years old)
- Aurelien Tchoameni (23 years old)
- Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin (24 years old)
- Uruguayan Fede Valverde (24 years old)
Real Madrid won the King’s Cup this season, but lost the La Liga title to Barcelona and the Champions League to Manchester City.
Frenchman Karim Benzema, Spaniards Marco Asensio and Mariano Diaz, and Belgian Eden Hazard left the team.
