Rolls-Royce Motor has unveiled its latest exclusive series of SUVs, the Rolls-Royce Droptail.
Inspired by the high-speed sailing yachts of the 1930s, the two-person car comes with a removable carbon fiber hardtop and electric glass that changes the amount of light entering the cabin at the touch of a button.
No specific pricing has been announced for the car, but it is estimated to cost more than $30 million. While a company spokesperson confirmed that the cost of the previous vehicles, which were less complex, exceeded $28 million, according to Bloomberg, which was seen by Al Arabiya.net.
The Droptail features a low-slung, elegant exterior reminiscent of a high-tech luxury yacht; Only the door handles, the “Spirit of Ecstasy” hood ornament, and only the “RR” badge interrupt the clear lines from front to rear. (Door handles have a concealed locking mechanism and a discreetly integrated indicator light.)
Its nautical-influenced design differs from that of a convertible, which stores the upper part of the car (the roof) in the rear cabin and is raised and lowered automatically on command. Instead, the top of the car must be lowered manually onto the vehicle.
The car is 5.3 meters long, 2 meters wide, and carries the same 6.75-liter V-12 Twin Turbo engine.
Extensive wood parquetry – more than 1,600 wood pieces hand-finished and hand-laid over a two-year period – lines the interior of the cabin.

Similar to the $2.1 million custom-made Bator, the Droptail is the third installment in the automaker’s “Coachbuilt” series, which allows the wealthy to design a one-off car with specialized functions unique to their car, but is far more exclusive and expensive than a car. “Batur”.
Last year, Rolls-Royce sold 6,021 cars, up 8% from 2021 and for the first time in its 118-year history, sales exceeded 6,000 cars in a 12-month period.
Only 4 Droptails will be built. The car will come with an integrated Audemers Piguet Royal Oak clock on the dashboard, for the first version, which comes under the name “Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire Droptail”.
