Moroccan Hakim Ziyech caught the spotlight in his first appearance with his new team Galatasaray, during the team’s match against Samsunspor in the Turkish Football League, and contributed to achieving victory and advancing to second place in the standings behind leaders Fenerbahce.
Galatasaray achieved a wide victory over Samsunspor with a score of 4-2 in the match that was held yesterday, Saturday, in the fifth round of the Turkish League, and Ziyech participated in the second half.
The Moroccan star was behind Galatasaray’s fourth goal, with which his teammate Icardi secured the result for the hosts, and this particular goal caught the attention because of the way it was scored.
The ball reached Ziyech on the right corridor, where he ran with it and entered deep before launching a missile shot that landed in the top right corner of Samsunspor goalkeeper Okan Kucuk in the 67th minute, which was Galatasaray’s fourth and last goal in the match.
Television replays showed that Argentine Mauro Icardi, Galatasaray striker, blocked the path of the ball and turned it with a light touch, heading towards the goal.

The British website “Give Me Sport” reported that the speed of the ball when Ziyech shot it reached 112 kilometers per hour, which made it more difficult for the goalkeeper to deal with the shot.
The British website explained that Icardi’s goal is the best headed goal scored during the matches of the current season 2023-2024 in the European leagues.
Ziyech joined Galatasaray on August 19, 2023, coming from Chelsea, on loan for one season. The team’s fans reacted remarkably to Ziyech’s arrival, and the way he presented was unusual on football stadiums.
Ziyech appeared on the stands in the place designated for the Galatasaray Ultras after the team’s match against its guest, Trabzonspor, in the second round of the Turkish League, and the Moroccan international led the celebrations for the first victory of the new season in that match.

As for his colleague Icardi, he raised his tally to 5 goals scored in 4 matches in the new season of the Turkish League, thus sharing the top scorer in the competition with Kayserispor striker Mamey Thiam.
