Not all of the highest-paid CEOs are at big tech companies.
The chief executives of Pinterest, Peloton and Hertz outperform Apple CEO Tim Cook, according to a new Wall Street Journal analysis.
The list of the highest-paid CEOs for 2022 is based on data from C-Suite Comp – a data analytics firm that tracks CEO compensation in nearly 4,000 publicly traded US companies. Their ranking includes CEO salaries, bonuses, perks, and stock options, among other factors.
CEOs often receive restricted shares or options as a large part of their compensation, the value of which can fluctuate, according to what was reported by CNBC, and viewed by Al Arabiya.net.
The list showed that the average wage for leaders of Standard & Poor’s 500 companies fell to $14.5 million last year, down from $14.7 million in 2021. By comparison, in 2022, the average American worker earned about $56,000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. .
Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman topped the list of highest-paid leaders with a total compensation package of $253 million. The next CEO on the list, Sundar Pichai, of Alphabet, the parent company of Google, earned $226 million in 2022.

For Bill Reedy, who took over at Pinterest in June 2022, about $101 million of his salary came in stock options, which were granted in connection with his appointment last year, the Wall Street Journal reports. A Pinterest spokeswoman told the newspaper that Reddy should not take any additional shares in the first four years of the business.
Whereas, Oracle’s Safra Katz is the only woman among the 10 highest-paid corporate leaders, even though the share of women CEOs in the Fortune 500 hit an all-time high in 2022.
Kiwi Camara
Kiwi Kamara, 39, is the only young man on the list who founded a company worth no more than $500 million, but he is paid more than the CEO of Apple.
But Kamara’s compensation comes with only $500,000 from salary, and the rest from stock options, which he is entitled to when the stock reaches certain levels by 2032.
